If you are anything like me, you LOVE warm weather! You love being outdoors, having fun, and exploring! Wintertime presents a big problem for me because I have no idea what to do with Max because my mind works better when I can be creative and get him outside.
This year I feel like I have done a great job keeping him entertained during these cold months, so I figured I would share my best ideas of fun things to do when it is cold outside!
Fun Things to Try:
1. Attend library events: Max has gone to storytime and a black history play at our local library, which he really enjoyed. Check your local library for events for your family to get involved with.
2. Attend college events: Your local college or university (perhaps even high school) likely puts on low-cost or free theater productions and/or art galleries that your little one may enjoy. This is a great way for your family to support local artists and gain an appreciation for the arts.
3. Attend a co-op or playgroup: This is great for kids because they can socialize but also great because parents can do the same thing. Grab your friends and set a play date for the kiddos. You could even do a theme and rotate the location to keep things interesting.
4. A Family Talent Show: Get serious with this one! Spend a couple of days or even weeks preparing for it. Perhaps you can even host auditions and invite extended family members to join the fun. We have been planning this but have yet to follow through because our schedules never match.
5. Do your favorite outdoor things, but... inside! Our local rec-center offers indoor swimming (and ice skating!) so I bet you could find a local place to do some fun activities to keep busy while it is cold out.
No matter what you do, just remember the quality family time is the most important thing!
