If you read my last post, you know I gave lots of fun ideas to keep your family busy during this interesting time we are living in. Well, I wanted to let you, I have not forgotten about the parents! We, too, need to stay sane and find ways to be productive while we are home during this extended break.

So, I give to you: Productive Tasks to Keep You Busy during this quarantine.
1. Clean Up E-mail: We are all too busy to clear out our inboxes from the thousands of junk we sign up for on a daily basis, I get it. But if you are home, take the time to sort through the junk, unsubscribe from stuff you do not read, and delete everything irrelevant. Do the same uncluttering techniques for other things in your life as well. Perhaps this is the perfect time to clean up all those little household projects that you can never find the time for.
2. Create New Healthy Habits: Do you always eat out? Take this time to learn to cook and create fresh meals, right in your own kitchen. You will be surprised how much money you save and how much healthier is it. If cooking is not your thing, no worries, do something else. Set aside a few minutes every day to meditate and do yoga. Just pick something that is meaningful to you and will make you into a healthier person. Set some type of goal that will have a positive impact on your life beyond this quarantine situation.
3. Read & Stay Informed: This is a great time to discover a love for reading (or writing!) and inspire your family to do the same. So many organizations have made e-books/audiobooks/etc available for free so get your hands on them and take advantage. This is also a great time to stay informed with everything around us and I do not necessarily just mean COVID-19 related. Maybe during this time, you have an extra five or 10 minutes per day to expand your world and learn more about current events.
4. Spend Quality Time with Family: It is so easy to talk to our loved ones when we have our faces shoved into a phone screen or while trying to multitask. However, during this time, it does not have to be that way. I understand some people are working from home and of course, children are schooling from home... I get it. But, why not incorporate screen-free family time into the new routines? Take some time to really get to know each other and talk about things we enjoy or fear during this time. Children may feel vulnerable and worried about their friends and school issues, so this is a great way to get them talking and try to comfort them.
5. Get Organized: Maybe this is something you have struggled with your whole life and you just cannot seem to get on top of it. Well, this is your time. Start by writing down what your struggles are. This helps you to take a deep look at yourself and see where you need to step your game up. Next, you can move to creating a list of what you think possible solutions are. Once you feel ready, you can start planning out how you will carry out those solutions. Do whatever you need to do; it may include research, enlisting help, etc.
