This month is going to be super exciting because I am participating in a "Blog Challenge!" Technically it is a 30 Day Challenge, but, not all of the topics fit into my blog or style so I will only be doing the ones I really like. (:

Any who, let us kick things off with an About Me Post.

1. I am CPR certified and strongly feel everyone should be, no matter what you occupation is.

2. I took a fencing class in college, which I was surprisingly good at due to my years of ballet posture.

3. It was primarily my decision to raise Max as a vegetarian.

5. I enjoy trying new creative things, such as calligraphy/typography/graphic design/interior design/etc.

6. I was a scholarship recipient in college, thanks in large part to my high GPA.

7. I always have tea in my home. No matter what!

8. I recently learned to make sangria and cannot wait to share some nice recipes with you guys!

9. I am considering home-school uniforms for Max and myself.

10. I have about 40K monthly views on my Pinterest, so definitely check that out. People love it.

11. I have a neurological condition, that two of my siblings also have.

12. I love amusement parks and scary movies.

13. I love making lists of things... go figure, right?

14. Max's birthday was supposed to be delivered August 12 via c-section but was rescheduled for August 14.

15. I probably own close to 100 writing utensils. (A nice combination of brush pens, markers, pencils, calligraphy/fountain pens, etc.)

Haha, hope that was fun! Stay tuned for more posts from my #BlogChallenge

Hey! Here is a super easy DIY portable heating pad that you can make in your free time.

Enjoy.

Materials:

  • Sewing needle and thread

  • Fabric (amount is dependent upon how big or small you plan to make it.)

  • Scissors

  • Marker

  • Funnel

  • Rice (or beans)

  • Optional essential oils to make the heating pad smell nice

If using thin fabric, reinforce it by adding multiple layers for thickness and strength.

Directions:

  1. Cut fabric to desired length

  2. **Remember your desired fabric should be on the inside at this point because you will later flip the pad inside out.

  3. Use marker and draw along edges of where you plan to sew the pieces of fabric together.

  4. Begin sewing fabric together and leave out an opening where you can insert funnel and rice.

  5. Once your sewing is complete, you can now flip your pad inside out. This will now reveal your desired pattern on the outside.

  6. **For my pad, the white fabric is my desired pattern and the dark fabric is the reinforcement pattern.

  7. Use funnel to fill up the heating pad with rice and oils.

  8. Sew up the opening that was previously left unclosed for the insertion of rice.

  9. Ensure every side is closed and strong.

To Use Heating Pad:

  • Heat in microwave until hot.

  • **Time depends on size of the heating pad and wattage of your microwave.

Here you see my rice, funnel, and pad that has been flipped inside out to reveal the desired pattern.

Other Uses:

  • Sensory play with your little one

  • As a weight in your homeschool lesson

  • Door prop

  • Fidget bag

  • Corn hole
